METHAGENE Expert group meeting on “Proxies for methane” – 2^nd Round

A second round of METHAGENE expert group meeting on proxies for methane was held at the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) in Jokioinen on 07 and 08 January 2016. The meeting was a follow-up of the first meeting held in Catania in April last year. In the first meeting we mainly discussed all available proxies. The main objective of the meeting in Finland was to discuss opportunities of combining proxies to create synergies and the applications of using these proxies for farm management and breeding. All this will be combined in a joint review for publication in a refereed scientific journal by June 2016. Ten experts from different countries and institutions, which are all members of the METHAGENE consortium, attended the meeting. The meeting was coordinated by Dr. Enyew Negussie and Dr. Filippo Biscarini who are leaders of the WG3 of the METHAGENE COST Action FA1302.
